Neurofunctional Practitioner - Junior

Why I am here:

I want to work alongside like-minded therapists who are motivated to continue advancing their skills and knowledge in the field of health and performance. The precision and attention to detail needed to help clients reach their full potential sets Instil Physio apart. I believe my training as a chiropractor complements an elite team of neurofunctional practitioners which allows us to offer our clients the best possible care.

A little about me:

After a short career in the OHL, I moved on to play CIS hockey at the University of Guelph where I obtained a Bachelor of Human Kinetics with a Minor in Nutrition. Following graduation I went on to earn a Doctor of Chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College, and completed the Contemporary Medical Acupuncture program at McMaster University. During this time I developed a neurofunctional rehab class for students in my program looking to learn more about movement and function.

Since recovering from multiple hip and knee surgeries, I frequently take on new physical challenges to serve as an example of the body’s ability to adapt. I continue to play hockey, and now enjoy crossfit, rock climbing, yoga, and various outdoor adventure sports.

Some of my special interests and future ambitions:

- My experience in athletics has driven my interest in assessing the subtleties contributing to human function utilizing the neurofunctional model

- As a chiropractor, I pay special attention to how spinal mechanics and stabilization relates to dysfunctions in the extremities that can alter performance and lead to chronic pain

- I want to contribute to the community by continuing to develop educational material for both therapists and the general population looking to take an active role in their health and fitness

- My goal is to be sought after for the most complicated clinical cases by expanding my knowledge beyond my scope of practice and accepting new challenges throughout my clinical career
